Firmware updates

Wacom are offering an advanced firmware of nextbeat X-1000

◆How to check your firmware version.

1.Turn the nextbeat on by the pressing "POWER".

2.Press "TRACK SELECT" to show playback screen.

3.Hold down "BACK" for 2 seconds or longer.

4. You can find "Firmware Version" on preferences screen.

5. Press "BACK" to exit the preferences screen.

Improvement in error message when unsupported audio format such as MP3（VBR） is existing..

Wider audio format recognition, including non-regulation MPEG 1 layer 3, WAV and AAC file formats.

Improvement in the track selection screen to put cursor at the last positioning.

Improvement in phrase recording function to protect device freezing by irregular operation.

Improvement to protect boot error. Improvements to operating system, offering extra protection against boot errors.

Improvement to CF card read time out error on intializing. Improvements against CF card read errors on start-up.

◆How to update your firmware

・Requirements.

　The latest firmware , nextbeat X-1000, blank CF card (accessory)、USB cable、 PC or Mac

How to acquire the latest firmware

Download the following files with the below process.

Download the following files by providing your email address and serial number for your X-1000.

10 figure alphanumeric code on the base of your unit, and the underside of remote device)

　* We will ask your email address and serial number.

Please check 10 figures serial number (alphanumeric)which is printing on the back sticker of both base and portable units.

・Process

1.Download the firmware above to your PC or Mac

2.Insert the provided CF card (2GB; accessory) into the nextbeat.

3.Connect to Computer with USB cable, and turn the nextbeat (X-1000) on.

4.Make sure CF card does not have any datum. Otherwise, please clear it and backup your audio file/data onto you computer.

5.Drag and Drop the following data between the computer and CF card.(ALLF_01-10-04-05-02-02.nbu)

　*Important: If you forward the wrong data, it may cause an updating error.

6.Remove USB cable and turn nextbeat X-1000 off

7.Turn nextbeat X-1000 on

8.Follow the on-screen instructions, and press "PLAY/PAUSE" when prompted.

9.It will take about 10 minutes for the upload to be completed

　※Important… During firmware updating

　　a)Do not remove portable unit

　　b)Do not turn off nextbeat

　　c)Do not touch cables and nextbeat on hand to avoid unnessesary static power.

　　d)Do not remove the CF card

10.When updating is completed, eject CF Card from your PC or MAC. Turn off nextbeat

11Reconnect nextbeat X-1000 to your Computer with the USB cable, and turn on nextbeat and delete updating file from CF card.

12.Forward backup audio data to CF card. Copy your audio files back on to the CF card.

13.Eject CF Card from your PC or MAC, turn off nextbeat, Remove USB cable

14.Turn nextbeat X-1000 on

15.Make sure firmware is completed (See the above"How to check your firmware version.")

◆Caution

・Please follow the process above.

・Do not turn off during updating

・Do not remove portable unit during updating

・Do not touch anything during updating

・Do not use another CF card for updating except provided CF card (2GB)

・Do not change file name or extension of firmware

・Do not use this firmware except on nextbeat X-1000

・please follow the update instructions exactly to avoid a failure of the firmware update process.

Such failure may cause a non warranted hardware damage meaning the unit needs to be returned to service.
